ASQA Risk Priorities 2026–27: Key Changes Every RTO Needs to Prepare For

When running an RTO, keeping up with regulatory changes is not only important but also necessary. ASQA has released its Regulatory Risk Priorities for 2026–27, and there are some important changes that RTOs should understand. Instead of looking at risks separately, the latest approach focuses on interconnected issues that may affect training quality, qualification integrity and the overall VET sector. What Has Changed for 2026–27? The new priorities focus on four major risk areas: provider governance and non-genuine operations, quality and sufficiency of training, integrity of qualifications and competency outcomes, and transparency within complex or international delivery models. Hence, RTOs need to look beyond simple paperwork compliance.
